A Rat was seen by Ralph Martin (CHOA Landscape Director) on a bird feeder just inside a courtyard on Fairway Dr. Please do not feed the ducks throwing birdseed in the grass! I personally (Jan Landis, CHOA communication Director) have seen an increase of duck activity, including excrement all over our patio.
According to Ralph, if many residents are feeding wildlife, outside of the CHOA policy, it may be why we are seeing rats and recent sightings of the coyote. Ralph has personally seen a coyote 3 times around F&G pool area in the early evenings! With the added concern of the rats, who now have crossed over from Louvonne to Fairway this must be addressed. A coyote was spotted on the path by F & G pool and walking across Fairway Dr at the parking area near 8225 SW Fairway Dr.

Homeowners interested in serving on the Charbonneau Homeowners Association (CHOA) Board of Directors should submit a letter on interest and qualifications to CHOA, (P. O. Box 219, Wilsonville, OR. 97070) no later than April 1, 2016. The Nominating Committee will meet with applicants in early April. Board Director terms are for three years.

There is not a quorum for the the monthly board meeting in March, as a result Wednesday, March 9th board meeting has been canceled.
The next Monthly meeting will be April 13th, at 10:00 in Pool House C on Lafayette.
An inspection of CHOA Chimneys was done and a letter will be sent out to residents in late Spring if the outside of the chimney is in need of cleaning.
Per CCC and CHOA General Maintenance rules, Homeowners are responsible to properly maintain their residence at their own expense.
Cleaning of your chimney can be done by you or anyone of your choice. If you would like a list of companies used in CHOA in the past, please contact Steve Chinn (schinno@gmaiI.com or 503-682-0234)

Our cat, Millie, a short haired Siamese, was let out as usual on Wednesday morning but did not come back within her usual 30 minutes. That is not too unusual. But the gardeners had been around the street and they were here all day yesterday, which may have scared her. However, she did not come in yesterday evening and this morning she was not in our garage like she usually is if she is still outside when we go to bed. We called for her all night with no luck.Today we still have not seen her. Unfortunately she went out without her collar on, something that rarely happens.If you happened to see her yesterday or today, could you let me know? About 75-80 people attended our Holiday Gathering. Thanks to Ty & Joan Kuhns and Bill & Susan Steel Preparations and their CHOA volunteer team the Country Club was beautifully decorated and everyone who attended had a wonderful time of socializing with their neighbors. I have heard many comments since the party that residents look forward to enjoy this party as one of the best of the year.
During our Holiday Gathering we again gave the opportunity for our residents to give to The Community Transitional School of Portland. This year we raised $760.00 in cash and 45-50 gifts were delivered to the children. The poster below is from the kids of CTS.

While all of us feel at times that we are caught up in circumstances over which we have no control, many of our students are especially prone to see themselves as helpless victims in a world where they have few options and little or no opportunity to take control of their own lives. It’s a belief that many of them inherit from their parents and one they will likely pass on to their own children. Our mission is to prevent that, to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness they are caught in by helping them discover that they have the strength within themselves to change their lives and the support they need to set goals and achieve….
Hardly a day goes by that I am not mindful of your support and what it means. For the past year or two I have begun walking to work whenever I can. As the days grow shorter and colder, I am often the first to arrive and I see the building waiting dark and silent for the school day to begin. Opening the door and stepping from the dark outside to the dark inside, I turn on the heat and lights, and it is often then that I think what a miracle it is that the place I am standing in was built by the kindness of thousands of people for the benefit of children most of them have never met and will never know. Later, as the sky lightens and children pour from the buses and stream laughing and shouting into the school. I often reflect on how little they actually know about all the people who opened that door and keep it open every day……But we never forget that it is you who make it possible for us to be there, and we are grateful for all you do.
