Another break-in this time on Lake Point Ct

I’m sorry to report that there was another break-in Monday night on Lake Point Ct.  Again a garage door opener was taken from a car parked in the driveway.  The garage was then open and a small bag of tools was taken, some keys, one to the truck parked inside the garage.  This was an attached garage but the house was not entered.

The sheriff and Charbonneau security have been notified.

The Sheriff informed the residents that they believe this is one person operating in Wilsonville.  The same MO if taking the Garage door opener, and breaking-in.  The Sheriff’s department has photos of the truck and the robber, but no face picture as yet as they are always wearing a hoodie.  They are aware and working on catching this person.

The message from the Sheriff’s department, is either don’t leave your garage door opener in the car or make sure it is not visible.  If a garage door opener is spotted, this is a reason to break into the car.  Also, if you have an attached garage, lock the door to the inside of your home.

Also a good idea, even during the day to not leave your garage open – so someone could take inventory of what is in there

The CHOA Board would like to thank the Men’s Club and the Niners for their donations to help support the annual upkeep of the CHOA Putting Green.   Weather permitting, the Putting Green is open all year to Charbonneau residents and club members to help improve your putting.  From the results of our Grand Opening Putting contest, many of us need it!

It’s that time of year, be careful with package delivery too

Report from Lafayette street:

Friday night at 8 pm, OnTrak delivered a package to my home but placed outside of my garage instead of on my porch as I had requested.

 

This package was stolen right here in Charbonneau.  It is that time of year and sad to know that someone could come in on Lafayette which is a dead-end road and steal right out front.

 

The supplier is making good for me and OnTrak is told to deliver on the porch so hopefully mine will not walk away again, but others should be made aware as well.

Be sure to report to police and the country club any thefts or activity, so that they can track and increase patrols

 

Break in on Fairway Dr, Please be cautious

A car was broken into on Fairway drive on Sunday about 8:30.

Small amount of cash, from the glove box car registration and Insurance and most importantly the garage door opener.

Be sure to lock you car and your garage.  Perhaps think about each night taking your garage door opener into the house, especially if you garage is attached to your house.

The Country Club Security has been notified and the Police are aware.

CHOA residents can win an array of emergency preparedness gear by taking part in CCC’s “Oregon ShakeOut Drill” at 10:18 a.m. on 10/18/18 during Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills!  If you participate, you will receive a raffle ticket when you place your HELP/OK sign and report in to your Neighborhood Captain that, “I participated.”

How do YOU participate? On Thurs., Oct. 18, set your alarm for 10:18 a.m. When it goes off:

DROP – TO YOUR HANDS AND KNEES, PREFERABLY UNDER SOMETHING STURDY

COVER – THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD & NECK WITH ONE ARM

HOLD ON – IN CASE THE THING YOU ARE UNDER MOVES

WHAT TO DO NEXT?

  1. Check on everyone in your home, are they OK?
  2. Protect your head, feet & hands from broken glass & fallen debris. Time to get on your hard hat, work gloves and sturdy shoes!
  3. Check on your gas meter; make sure you know where it is and how to turn it off if necessary.
  4. Make sure you know where the main water shut off to your home is located and how to turn it off.
  5. Place your HELP/OK sign on your garage door
  6. Put you fire extinguisher at the end of your driveway.
  7. The CHOA approach is “Shelter in Place,” which means that you secure your home and make sure you family is safe. Place a “HELP” sign if you need assistance.
  8. In a real emergency, your Neighborhood Captain would come by later to check with you personally.
  9. Raffle: you can go to CCC and say that you participated or you can call/email/text your Neighborhood Captain that you participated and he/she will be sure that you get a ticket in the raffle.

“Shelter in Place”

1 Stay in your home and take care of your family and household safety.
2 Follow the guidelines in the CCC Emergency Preparedness Plan, starting with “What to Do NOW!”
3 The CHOA Emergency Preparedness Team will gather at Rec Hall C, adjacent to the pool on Lafayette Way.
4 Emergency Preparedness Team members will begin checking all CHOA neighborhoods.
5 Households with the “HELP” sign displayed will be assisted first.
6 After assessing the impact of the disaster, the Emergency Preparedness Team members will develop a Disaster Response Plan.
7 The CHOA Disaster Response Plan details will be communicated either door-to-door or via available communication technology.

Great Shakeout Earthquake Drill to be Thursday October 18th at 10:18 am

Please note that CHOA is participating in the Charbonneau Great Shakeout Earthquake drill on Thursday, October 18th at 10:18 am.

This is part of a worldwide event.  Millions of people worldwide will practice how to Drop, Cover and Hold On during Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills!  The CCC Emergency Preparedness Committee is asking everyone in Charbonneau to participate.

How do YOU participate? On Thursday, October 18, set your alarm for 10:18AM and when it goes off:

Second, Our Community

  1. Once your own home seems safe, go to Rec Hall C for your team meeting.
  2. On your way, survey your neighborhood for serious damage, especially HELP signs.
  3. At Rec Hall C, report in and the team leader, Mike Tewell this time, will report to CCC headquarters using our two-way radio system.
  4. Fill out your own raffle tickets.
  5. On your way home, recheck your neighborhood for HELP/OK signs
  6. Residents in your neighborhood who participated will call you or email.
  7. Communicate your list of participants to Mike by 12:00 noon.
  8. Mike will turn in CCC raffle tickets to the Country Club by 3:00 p.m.
