OLD BUSINESS
Additions to Rec Hall rental agreement
Pool Committee was charged with making a recommendation. Their recommendation
follows:
It is the understanding of the CHOA board that member use should be generally
free. Regular use by members is subject to availability. The pool committee
believes that for-profit use by or with a member involved should be charged $10
per use or at the rate of $500 if the event is recurring. Further, Rec Hall cleaning
should be increased to weekly or bimonthly.
There was considerable discussion of how to make sure the Hall is cleaned and
disinfected adequately in light of Covid 19. Ken recommended we add a $10 cleaning
fee for members and $20 for for-profit. A final decision will wait until the next meeting
since the Hall is not yet open and we have more time to consider this.
On another matter, the board also decided to paint the interior of the Rec Hall this
summer since the Hall is not in use due to Covid 19. Steve will look into how best to
have the work done. He will seek a bid from potential painters.
Retention of Files
Barry gave an update on dropbox. He urged each board member to add documents in their
areas of responsibility.
Safety – Neighborhood Watch
The Safety committee is not currently in a position to take a lead on advancing a neighborhood
watch. After some discussion Barry agreed to send out a message to members to see about
their interest and to seek potential leaders of the effort.
NEW BUSINESS
Alarm systems across CHOA- review options
Ken said, according to a three-year-old survey there are around 75 people using
Wilsonville Lock. It may be time to do a new survey to find out what people currently
use for alarm systems. That will be time consuming and may not give us good data.
It was suggested that we go back to Wilsonville Lock, seek an accurate list of people
using their service and, if appropriate, renegotiate our contract with them. Ken and
Barry will follow up.
Committee Updates
Pools: Clackamas County will apply to go into phase 2 next week.
Landscape: Karen asked to have bark put down in the summer (front areas) instead of
the fall. The quote is $31,000, which is more than the $22,000 we have budgeted. The
estimate can be reduced to $24,000 by applying a thinner cover of bark. The board
approved of this use of funds.
Villager articles
Introduction of new board members will appear in the next issue. Karen will provide
photos of landscaping for the September issue.
Trip Hazard
Steve reported that he has a bid for $6500 to make repairs where needed. All repairs
must now be made in concrete. Other areas would require around $25,000 in work so
the total is over $30,000 for all the work needed. We do not currently have funds for
this. Steve said he can look into grinding down the dangerous places for far less
expense. It won’t look as good, but we can probably afford it. Steve will get a bid for
this grinding down option.
Janet asked about painting lines on the guest parking areas. Steve said it’s not difficult
to do and would be a small expense. Barry asked Steve to give the board a proposal.
Executive Session
The board moved into executive session at 11:37 AM. Session ended at 11:46 AM
