CHOA residents can win an array of emergency preparedness gear by taking part in CCC’s “Oregon ShakeOut Drill” at 10:18 a.m. on 10/18/18 during Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills! If you participate, you will receive a raffle ticket when you place your HELP/OK sign and report in to your Neighborhood Captain that, “I participated.”
How do YOU participate? On Thurs., Oct. 18, set your alarm for 10:18 a.m. When it goes off:
DROP – TO YOUR HANDS AND KNEES, PREFERABLY UNDER SOMETHING STURDY
COVER – THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD & NECK WITH ONE ARM
HOLD ON – IN CASE THE THING YOU ARE UNDER MOVES

2 | Follow the guidelines in the CCC Emergency Preparedness Plan, starting with “What to Do NOW!” |
3 | The CHOA Emergency Preparedness Team will gather at Rec Hall C, adjacent to the pool on Lafayette Way. |
4 | Emergency Preparedness Team members will begin checking all CHOA neighborhoods. |
5 | Households with the “HELP” sign displayed will be assisted first. |
6 | After assessing the impact of the disaster, the Emergency Preparedness Team members will develop a Disaster Response Plan. |
7 | The CHOA Disaster Response Plan details will be communicated either door-to-door or via available communication technology. |

Please note that CHOA is participating in the Charbonneau Great Shakeout Earthquake drill on Thursday, October 18th at 10:18 am.
This is part of a worldwide event. Millions of people worldwide will practice how to Drop, Cover and Hold On during Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills! The CCC Emergency Preparedness Committee is asking everyone in Charbonneau to participate.

Please note that there will be an Emergency Product Fair- Saturday, October 6, 12-4 pm at CCC. Several suppliers including Quake-Ready Kits (pre-orders still accepted – see The Villager for details), Costco, Red Cross, Jay Puppo with State Farm and more. Please spread the word to CHOA residents about this opportunity to gather information and purchase supplies to help them be ready in case of an emergency.

Please note that the Wilsonville Police Department and the Charbonneau Disaster Preparedness Committee want to help you with your medicine cabinet Fall cleaning. On Saturday, October 6th from 1 to 3 pm they will be stationed at the Country Club Clubhouse entrance to take all your old/expired/obsolete pills. They will take them and dispose of them safely.
At our Annual Meeting, several folks asked if we could have our Board meetings in the evening for those folks who can’t make a morning meeting. We heard your request and are pleased to announce that our October CHOA Board meeting with be held Tuesday, the 9th at 6:00 pm in Rec Hall C.
