Because December is always such a busy time, the CHOA Winter Party will be Saturday evening, January 25th, at the Charbonneau Country Club.

This will be a great time to get together to meet new neighbors and catch up with everyone.  If you have new neighbors, please invite them to join us since not everyone is on-line or have e-mail.

Please bring an Appetizer to share.  Coffee and water will be provided.

Now that the trees have released most of their leaves, our Garron crews can move on to other maintenance issues.  They have completed spraying for moss around the beds on the back of our yards (golf course side) and will be cleaning up the beds this week.  We plan on placing hemlock bark on the golf course sides of our homes the second week of December, (weather permitting) as shown on the Map below:

 Rexius will have several trucks on site and will probably start at the north end of Boones Bend.

NOTE to those who are on the “NO PRUNE” list and to those who have perennials planted on the golf course side –you should do the necessary pruning to make those beds accessible or we may not be able to blow the bark into those areas.

Gutter Cleaning has started

Per request from our Residents – This year we are starting the Gutter Cleaning before the 1st of the year.

Our contractor was scheduled to start November 1st, but because of the great weather we’ve been having  the leaves were too dry and  just kept blowing away.

After the rain this last week – which made the leaves more wet – Gutter cleaning was started earlier this week in “A” Neighborhood.

So you may see the contractor cleaning your gutters in the near future.  Probably will continue into December.

 

On another note: Please be aware a cougar was spotted running from on French Prairie and then running down Miley Rd early in the morning.

Watch your pets when they are outside, especially early in the morning

Record number of neighbors participated in the CHOA Shake Out event

Over 100 of our neighbors participated in the Thursday, October 17th Shake out event.  This was the best turnout we have had.  Special thanks to Eric Hoem and the Neighborhood Captains who helped make this possible.

The winners of First Aid kits were: David & Patricia Lahr; Catherine Shields; Pat Tewell; Sally Applegarth; and Julie & David Verburg.

Auroa Airport Master Plan

If so inclined would you consider cutting and pasting the letter below to your e-mail and send it to the address at the bottom? We would so appreciate it.  I know we all have lives and commitments. So please just consider it.  By Oct 4th, all written comments must be at the Oregon Aviation Board and their final decision to forward their recommendation will be decided on Oct 31st in Sun River.  I know Greg Leo and I will be there. You may think, as I do, that this cynically short time period is intentional to reduce our opportunity for public comment. Let’s prove them wrong. I’ve also attached a wonderful letter from Friends of French Prairie written by Ben Williams.  I personally know everything in his letter is factual. You may find the OABs actions infuriating and biased. So do I.  The OAB is full of contradictions, sleight -of-hand, back room meetings with airport business owners, and they’re looking at a non “master plan” that violates at least six of Oregon’s Land Use Plan rules. ATTN: Aurora Master Plan 09/27/2019

 

I’m writing in total opposition to what is called the “Aurora State Airport Master Plan”.  The plan is required to address all of Oregon’s Land Use Plan.  It does not address Goal 1 Civic Participation, Goal 3 Protection of EFU land (Exclusive Farm Use), Goal 6 Pollution.  The Arora airport is the third largest polluter of all thirty state airport. This truly effects or health and safety. Goal 11 Public Services. It’s sewer and water are not connected to a utility district! Goal 12 Transportation. The plan has no consideration for surface road congestion. As if it isn’t bad enough. The plan is also required to counsel with state agencies.  I’m surprised they missed the Department of Agriculture,  The Department of Transportation, The DEQ? Really?  We also understand there are now real airport usage numbers.  So what’s wrong with getting the process right and using real numbers?  Following the rules like everyone else? Letting us in on the decision making process?  Do the master plan correctly.  Don’t hurt our quality of life, our health and our safety so that a handful of business owners can make a little more money.
