Grand Opening of CHOA Putting Green well attended and enjoyed by all

Over 50 people attended the Grand Opening of the CHOA Putting Green on Monday, August 20th.  Sparkling cider was served along with cookies.  The ribbon cutting ceremony started at 6:30 and the putting contest followed thereafter.  The top 3 placers all got a prize and the rest of us the realization that we need to start practicing our putting more!  Now we have a place close by to do that.

Special Thanks for Karen Siegel for leading this effort.

New energy efficient lights installed

Image result for led light bulbs

Please note that CHOA has replaced all of the Common Area outside lighting on your homes (normally front and back) with new low energy LED light bulbs.  In addition to saving 50% on the cost of the LED bulbs due to a program by the Energy Trust of Oregon, it is estimated that our neighbors will save a combined $9000 in electricity costs per year.  Nice work by Steve Chinn and his team here.

Please note that we now have a lot of old light bulbs that we are not sure what to do with.  Any ideas?

Reminder- Grand Opening of the new CHOA PUTTING GREEN Monday, August 20th at 6:00 to 7:30 pm

Please join CHOA for the Grand Opening of the new CHOA PUTTING GREEN Monday, August 20th at 6:00 to 7:30 pm

There will be cookies and punch along with a putting contest.  Come and test your putting skills against your neighbors!  You might even win a prize!  Please remember to bring your Putter if you want to enter this contest.

Please note that there is limited parking in the area.  Please plan to drive your golf cart, walk (on the sidewalks/roads, not the golf course) or park over in the Villages parking lot.  We will have a shuttle golf cart to take you back and forth between the parking lot to the event.  The shuttle will run from 5:30 to 7:45 pm.

The CHOA Putting Green is located off Red 9 fairway and behind the Sacajawea Pool.

Hope to see you there!

Reminder- please remember to follow the Rules for the Pools

Please note that we are fortunate to have Pools close by with all this hot summer weather.  With the heavy use of the pools, we wanted to remind everyone to please remember and follow the Rules for the Pools to make this a pleasant experience for all involved.  The most important thing is to be considerate of others enjoying the pools with you.

CHOA Irrigation update

Please note with the unprecedented heat we have been having, Garron Grounds has been adjusting the irrigation schedule as needed to beat the heat and keep our community green.  The high volume of usage also brings other problems with equipment failures which we are correcting as soon as discovered.

Garron is currently watering twice a day – the times may change as needs change – and while not normally watering on the day before,  and day of – mowing, if temperatures demand, they will moisten the ground after mowing.

Garron is monitoring the area daily but we appreciate your help by letting us know if you see an area becoming too dry or being over watered. Call Steve Chinn 503-682-0234 or Karen Siegel 503-694-2692 and they will work with Garron to correct problems as soon as possible.

Thanks.
